Cooking from a Recipe
DUE: Friday, Dec. 15
Cooking from a Recipe
December’s book report project is to find a recipe, write up how you cook it, actually cook it, and bring it in (Students will need to cook under the supervision of an adult). The purpose of this lesson is for students to understand the importance of following a piece of writing that must be followed in sequence as well as enjoying something they helped to create. The recipes can be a family favorite or personal favorite dish (remember you must make enough for all the students in the class, and Mr. Schreiber, so make enough for at least 30 people). Recipes will be due on Friday, December 8. We will be having a potluck winter party on Friday, December 15th where students can share what they made. This is a pass or fail project. All you need to pass is to cook the food, type up the recipe, bring in what you cooked, and eat it (Yum!). The recipes will be put together as a class cookbook. Again this is all due Dec. 15th. I suggest getting the prepping/cooking done Thursday night. I look forward to your culinary creations. We’ll start the feast at 10:30am. Parents are encouraged to come eat and help out as long as they are cleared by the office. It would be ideal if parents could bring a hot dish at 10:00 since we don’t have many ways of heating up food. Good luck and enjoy!
