- After the Spanish arrived, what did they bring that helped American Indians improve their way of life. Hint: (it's an animal)
- Know the meaning of the word legislature.

- Understand why settlements were close to the water (in particular bays).
- Know what Tisquantum did to help the first colonists in New England.
- The Dutch settled in the area called New Netherland. Know the present-day states this area is in.
- Know the part of North America La Salle claimed in 1684 for France.
